In January of 1776 Thomas Paine wrote the 50 page pamphlet known as common sense in this pamphet paine ridiculed the idea of rule by kings he also gave strong support towards idependence and also called King George III a royal brute.His pamphlet became te reason more peoople supported idependence. -

Paines pamphlet increased supprt for independence in the continental congress.Virginia authorized its delegates to support independence .The resolution claimed that the colonies have the right and ought to be free and independent states.Before voting on Lee's resolution congress appointed a comitte to draw up a statement for seperation from britain. -

The refusal of england to our wants led to very big conflicts that did not end well in the numbers of usually youmg men that died in the war it was very bad starting out with just the militias as soldiers after the war our goverment was now able to govern themselves and became more self-sufficient for each other.
