    The impressment of Sailors was a time between 1793 through 1812 Though the event began due to the British taking American Sailors to help them fight during the Napoleonic Wars. The British impressed about 15,000 American Sailors. This was one of the main causes of the War of 1812 because the U.S. was tired of their Sailors being taken so they declared war because they could let this continue.

    Washington’s Proclamation of Neutrality
    This proclamation was written by George Washington that stated the United States should and would stay neutral and that any citizen from the United States could not help any country that was at war or else there were consequences to their actions. This proclamation was made to keep the United States out of war with any and everyone to avoid war.

    The Jay Treaty was an agreement between the U.S. and Great Britain that helped avert war between the nations. Although the United States got some of its forts back that they lost from the American revolution this treaty angered the French as they believed it was a sell out and therefore they started seizing the United States ships.

    Tecumseh, a chieftain of the Shawnee tribe, led the movement towards gaining territorial freedom for Native Americans. In 1811
    Tensions rose drastically between American settlers and Tecumseh's Confederacy so in an effort to intimidate the confederation, William Henry Harrison led a troop of American soldiers towards Prophetstown. On November 7th 1811, Native warriors launched an attack on American troops.

Though His death at the Battle of the Thames in 1813 was a turning point in the conflict. It greatly weakened the Native American-British alliance and the decline of Native American military resistance in the war soon followed. After his death, remaining tribes lost a unifying figure.

    The Hartford Convention ware secret meetings in Hartford, Connecticut. Party delegates discussed a debating on secessions which they eventually just rejected. Instead, they drafted constitutional amendments that strengthens the state controls over commerce and militias.

    American and British negotiators had discussions in Europe, at first British was done talking and they weren't at a mutual agreement until later events when they agree to sign the Treaty of Ghent. The Treaty of Ghent was to restore conquest, commission to settle boundary argument, along with cessation of hostilities.

    "Land Victory" Britian didn't gain control of important American ports along with elevating Maj. Gen. Andrew Jackson to fame. This war also marked the state's political relation into the Union. Britian also had to recognize the U.S. claims to Louisiana and West Florida They also decided to ratify the Treaty of Ghent.
