    Washington Proclamation served the purpose of declaring neutrality between the conflict concerning France and Great Britain. This was due to the fact Washington felt America wasn't ready for another war even though they owed France.
  • Jay Treaty

    Jay Treaty
    This Treaty was between the US and the British and it nullified a coming war between the two. This treaty was made due to the fact both sides didn't honor certain things in the Treaty of Pairs. After this treaty was made it divided the American people and also angered the French. On the one side, the Federalist Party favored the treaty because they wanted stronger relations with France contrary to this the republicans wanted stronger ties with France which this treaty impeded.

    Tecumseh was a Native Indian Chief of the Shawnee tribe and the leader of the Tecumseh Confederation which was an alliance between different Indian tribes. This alliance was due to the fact that the Americans were expanding and the Indians didn't want this so they tried to resolve this issue diplomatically. Even though this was tried the Americans led a sneak attack on the confederation which sparked and alliance between the Indians and Britian leading to war.

    These acts were caused by the British specifically "press gangs". What these gangs did was forcibly recruit naval soldiers from American ships that were caught which created tensions between the two nations

    This treaty signified the end of the war between Britian and America. What it did was make the British agree to pull back their forces ending any military hostility and making both sides agree to compensate the other.

    The Hartford convention was held in Connecticut and served the purpose of allowing the New England leaders of the Federalist Party to voice their concerns over the ongoing war. Furthermore, this convention also discussed recent events such as the Louisiana Purchase, the Embargo Act, and the Three-fifths Compromise as well as certain powers of government.
