Washington’s Proclamation of Neutrality
This was a proclamation set by George Washington, stating that America was neutral in the war between France and Great Britain. This made America hesitant and cautious to providing assistance to either side. -
Jay Treaty
This treaty got Great Britain to withdraw from the Northwest territories, and they said they would compensate for the attacks on the American ships and stop raiding them. -

This was where the British wanted to search an Americans ship, belonging to James Barron, for deserters. When James Barron denied the British, Leopard fired on the Americans, killing 3 and wounding 18. -
Embargo Act 1807
This was made as a punishment for France and Britain for messing with America in their war. This Embargo was made by Thomas Jefferson to prevent American ships from trading with other ports. -

Tecumseh was a native American, and he tried negotiating with America about keeping America from expanding west. -
Impressment of sailors
This is what we call when Britain searched American ships, looking for deserters but mistake and took sailors instead. -

War Hawks were mostly young politicians from the South or West. This group of individuals advocated for war with others. -

The war begins due to lots of reasons, Britain's continued interference with American trade and commerce, growing territory into the Indians land as well as Britain's land. -

Tecumseh got forces together and fought with Britain in Michigan against harry and his army. -
Hartford Convention (Dec. 15, 1814)
This was a secret meeting between Federalists from multiple places, and they made a declaration calling on the Federal Government to protect New England and support them financially. -
Treaty of Ghent
This treaty ended the war of 1812, but this stated that everyone should give their conquered lands back to the people who they took it from and there were commissions put in place a boundary. -
Battle of New Orleans (January 8, 1815)
This was the last major battle between Britain and America, this battle was a symbol of American democracy to get rid of old European ideas of aristocrat and entitlement.
