    Great Britain and France made foreign trade dangerous and impossible at worst. Great Britain took America sailors of U.S. ships and forced them into the British Navy. France tried to improve relations with the United States. Madison declared war on Great Britain.

    Harrison made a small group of 1,000 men to try to destroy the town while Tecumseh was gone. Scouts leaded Harrison's troops to a campsite on a wooded hill a mile away from Prophet's Town. Tecumseh warned his brother not to attack the white men. His brother didn't listen and gave an order to attack just before the daybreak on the following day.

    Nine shopping to the U.S. defeated and captured six ships of the British. When the war broke out British immediately took control of Lake Erie. Their was only one American warship on Lake Erie that was the Brig USS Adams. It was not ready for service at the start of the war. It was the biggest Naval battles of the war of 1812.

    Americans crossed the Niagara River at Buffalo,easily siezed Fort Erie on July 3. They fought while it was pitch black and couldn't tell friend from foe. The American invasion was now effectively spent. November 5, Americans finally ended the war in Upper Canada.

    America had been at war with the British Empire since 1812. The British army of 4,000 approached Washington then residents fled the city. A messenger warned the first lady about the arrival of the British. In the evening the British army reached the Capital Hill and started to destroy all public buildings in the city.

    The battle of Baltimore was a British defeat against America. While the main attacks were started feome the Canadas, the series of attacks in Chesapeake were to create a diversion. Two thousand five hundred soldiers and one thousand Royal Marines and Royal Navy all came ashore. While landings were under way, Ross moved ahead with the light infantry halting after four miles.

    Britains goal was to capture sugar and cotton. They wanted to stop the U.S. from shipping goods and soldiers. On Christmas Day Pekanham arrived to lead his troopsmtoward battle, Jackson secured his structures and prepared for an attack. The structures were made by soldiers and African slaves.
