The us army was outnumbered 10 to 12,000. It also doesn't help that most of our troops were alchoholics. The us navy had 17 ships while the british had 1000. The british also had more money because they collected 40x more tax then we did. The british were too busy with napolean however to care to much about us. They didn't start kicking our buts till 1814 when napolean was defeated. -

Thousands of Soldiers were freed up to fight when Britian defeated Napolean. The navy blocked the coast while soldiers invaded the united states. The took one army took Maine while another army came from the north and invaded New York. A third army marsched on D.C. and a fourth invaded from the gulf. -

The Battle of New OrleansThe Americans sufferered only 71 casualties while the British suffered 2,036 casualties. This was bad because this was after the americans and british signed The Treaty of Ghent. The Americans took the greatest victory they had in the war. -

After the war most of the indian population resided east of the mississippi. As result millions of acres of land became deserted, so the U.S. settlers made settlements which later turned into states like Indiana, Illinois, and Alabama.
