    Washington's Proclamation of Neutrality
    In Washingtons Proclamation of neutrality he proclamated that the U.S. has to be friendly and impartial to belligerent powers, meaning that they were prohibited to be a part of war between two or more powers, especially France and Great Britain. Also, this proclamation prohibited the U.S. to offer assistance to two or more powers that are in war with each other.

    Jay's Treaty
    The Jay treaty was a treaty between America and Britain and it was due to the British navy seizing American ship bound. The treaty was to make sure that the British soldiers would leave western forts, but this treaty allowed the British to continue their fur trade with the Indians in the Northwest. Also London agreed to pay for the ship seizing cause by the British navy. This treaty was mainly supported by federalist because they valued ties with Great Britain.

    In Washington's Farewell address he refused to stand for a third term. But Washington did offer advice to the U.S. citizens. He warns people about how dangerous political parties can be and he also advises the people to be neutral in forgiven conflicts. He discourages foreign alliances and believes that they should only happen in extreme matter and should only last a short period of time.

    During 1805, Jefferson declared the struggle between America and Great Britain and France. Which was that the British naval commanders were seizing American ships and taking vessels, cargoes and sailors. This drew America to its limit, so Jefferson made a proclamation that stated that the British warships were not permitted in the U.S. territorial waters. This proclamation only made the British to increase the impressment of the sailors, which made America get more mad at the British.

    The Chesapeake-Leopard affair was when the Chesapeake ship set sail for the Mediterranean and a British vessel stopped them and requested for a search on the ship. James Barron, the American commodore denied them from searching the ship, which led to the British commander to kill 3 Americans and wound 18. Then proceeded to take suspected deserters. This event enraged the U.S., which later on led to the upcoming War of 1812.

    The Embargo Act of 1807 was an act that prohibited all foreign commerce. This was an act that was never tried before, so it was new t the people. Which made it dangerous because Americans did not know what to expect from it. Due to this act business, Industries, merchants, farmers, planters, craftsmen, and poor people suffered. In a year it lead America to fall into 1/5 of their former value. Which then later on led to this act being repealed in 1809.

    The War Hawks were members from the 12th congress that were calling for more decisive and aggressive measures towards Britain, they were a group of young politicians from the west and south. This group pressed for War with Great Britain. The war hawks contributed to the war of 1812 because of their nationalist fervor and anti-British sentiment.

    Tecumseh tries to negotiate with the Americans
    In August 1811, Tecumseh met with the American government to try to negotiate the stop of western expansion on the native lands. Tecumseh warned the Americans to not expand into their land or it would lead to serious consciences, but the American government did not listen, instead made plans to break up Tecumseh's confederacy. In November, an American army tried to destroy the confederacy. Natives town were burned down and the chance of peace between the whites and the natives vanished.

    The war of 1812 started when the U.S. declared war on Britain. This war mainly started because America hit the point were they were tired of the British navy for impressing American sailors and were not listening to the Americans telling them to stop. The war was favored by the South and West but was opposed by New York and New England because it cause problems with commerce. The U.S. had a weak military that were poorly trained and an army that consisted with 7,000 or fewer soldiers.

    When the American army defeated Tecumseh's forces in the battle of Tippecanoe and destroyed their town, Tecumseh was angered by them that when the war of 1812 between America and the British happened Tecumseh stroke a deal with Britain and sided with them to fight against America. Later during 1813 he died at the battle of Thames.

    The Hartford Convention was a secret meeting if federalist delegates who disagree with the War of 1812, James Madison's commerce policies, and the political power of the South. This convention adapted a strong states rights position, by drafting constitutional amendments that strengthen the states control over commerce and the military.

    The treaty of Ghent was suppose to be a peace treaty ending war but this treaty did not reach American or British army's up until the battle of New Orleans. But this treaty provided cessation of hostilities, restoration of conquest, and a commission to settle boundary issue. Also, Britain agreed to dismiss the calling they had on the northwest territory and both Britain and America agreed to try to end slave trade.

    Battle of New Orleans
    The Battle of New Orleans was the last battle between Great Britain and America. Where the U.S. won a victory agains Britain in the War of 1812. During this time the peace treaty of Ghent had been signed but the U.S. and British army had not yet heard of it so this battle occurred even though a treaty was signed to official end the war. This battle was fought outside of New Orleans, o the Chalmette Plantation. America.
