Hull's Proclamation
William Hull entered the north part of Canada thinking that they would not resist them. When he reached Canada he issued this Proclamation saying that he oesn't want to make enemies he simply wants to find them. This plan eventually failed. -
Battle of Queenston Heights
The Battle of Queenston Heights was the first major battle of the War of 1812. The outcome was a win for the British with one major set back, Major General Isaac Brock was killed. Brock won many previous battles for the British on defense or attacking. -
Battle of Beaver Dams
This battle would have gave America more territory if it weren't for Laura Secord. Secord overheard American leaders talking of an attack on a British base. They next day she ran for about 32 kilometeres to warn the base. They prepared a surprise attack and ambushed the army and won. -
Battle of Moraviantown
This Battle ocurred on October 5, 1813. This battle was supposed to be one of Tecumseh's greatest accomplishes when in return it was one of his worst. Tecumseh was killed during this battle and his troops were badly lessened. -
Battle of Châteaguay
The Battle of Châteaguay was between Lt. Colonel Charles de Salaberry and American General Hampton. This was the first time that the Candian forces did not have the English aid This was a mojor milestone considering that they won the battle, and defeated an other attempts to take Montreal. -
The US Federal Buildings Burned

Battle of Plattsburgh
The Battle of Plattsburgh was the first major victory for the United States during the war of 1812. It was an even larger milestone because it was fought on the water and the US navy defeated the British navy. The British were under Captain George Downie and the Americans were under Master Commandant Thomas Macdonough. -
Battle of Baltimore
The Battle of Baltimore was an attack on the 3rd largest city in America. The British has a captive in their ship, during the attack he saw how the fort was defended and wrote the star spangled banner. The Americans eventually defended Baltimore. -
Signing of the Treaty of Ghent
The Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24, 1814. It officially ended the War of 1812, and returned the United States and Britain to their original agreement before the war. -
Battle of New Orleans
Although the Treaty of Ghent was already in place due to slow communication the Battle of New Orleans still raged on. The United States army was lead by General Andrew Jackson and the British army was lead by Sir Edward Pakenham. In little over half an hour, Britain lost nealy 2,000 (missing, dead, or wounded) and the Americans had 8 dead and 13 wounded. This however did not have any effect upon the war, but it did boost nationalism. This would become the last armed conflict with the US and UK.
