    Columbus Heads For Asia
    On August 3rd, 1492 Columbus received permission and support to start a voyage to find a faster route to Asia. As we now know on this voyage Columbus ended up discovering the Americas instead of Asia. This is important because Columbus was crowned the first non native to discover the land of America.     Stalin, Churchill, and FDR, all met to talk about postwar Europe at a meeting now known as the Yalta conference. They agreed to split Germany into 4 parts and each said they support self-governing and free elections.     After WW2 ended people were able to get to there normal lives and think about the future, which is what they did for sports. The sport of basketball developed for 2 years after the war until June of 1946 when the NBA was created in NYC. 11 teams were in the league and played only 40 minute long games with 60 games.     Jackie Robison was signed to play major league baseball by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. Jackie was the first African American to play in the MLB.
