Dred Scott V. Sandford
Dred Scott V. Sandford was a case that Scott argued he should be a free man because he claimed residency in a free territory however majority said because slaves were property and ancestors were imported he could not sue in federal court and case was dismissed. -

This was an important decision because it outlawed segregation of schools based on race and made equal opportunity in education. Violated the 14th amendment to the constitution, which prohibits the states from denying equal rights to any person and subsequently further laws came as result of 14th amendment. -

This was so significant because it was a movement started by Civil Rights activist Dr Martin Luther King Jr and helped spark the end of segregation in public areas and employment discrimination based on race,color,sex,religion etc. -
Voting rights act of 1965
This law signed by President Lyndon Johnson was banning the discriminatory practices adopted in many southern US states after the civil war.Many African Americans were in fear of getting attacked or mentally feared of the consequences by whites in the South. -

To make sure all people with disabilities were treated the same and same opportunities and not put as disadvantages. Also ensures they receive same benefits government services, public, transportation etc. -
Obergefell V Hodges
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that all same-sex couples are guaranteed the right to marry by both the Due Process Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
