Richieu is poisoned and dies.
Richieu is sent by Vladek and Anja to stay with his aunt. Before they're captured by the Nazi's, Tosha poisons herself and the kids she's taking care of. -
Tries fleeing to Hungary
Vladek pays off smugglers with the thought that he and Anja would get into Hungary. Unfortunately, they are caught by the Gestapo and sent to Auschwitz. -
Auschwitz
Vladek arrived at Auschwitz with Anja. They arrive in a big truck with 100 other Jews. -
Vladek evacuated from Auschwitz.
The Russians start to close in on the Germans so they have to evacuate the concentration camp. Thousands of Jews marched to a new camp called Gross-Rosen -
Vladek is put onto a train.
Vladek and the other Jews march away from Gross-Rosen and are packed into trains. -
Vladek is sent to Dachau
Vladek described Dachau as a terrible concentration camp. He got very sick with Typhus at this camp. -
Leaves Dachau.
Vladek is put onto another train that is headed for Switzerland. -
Germany Surrenders

Reunited with Anja
Vladek and Anja are reunited after the war in Sosnowiec. -
Moves to Stockholm, Sweden
Vladek and Anja move to Sweden where Art is born. -
Art is born.
He's born in Sweden after they move. -
Anja kills herself.
Anja kills herself and doesn't leave a note. Vladek found her dead body in their house. -
Vladek marries Mala
