Vladek and Anja are caught in an attempt to escape with smugglers to Hungary by the Nazis and they are sent to Auchwitz.

Vladek moves on from his position in Auchwitz teaching English.
From here, he begins to station at the Tin Shop. -
Vladek's time at the shop comes to an end and he has to work manual labor for the remainder of his time at Auschwitz.
