    Magnavox Odyssey 1972
    The Magnavox Odyssey was the turning point for video games, and video game consoles. It released a whole new world of entertainment for everybody. It had 28 available games that were distributed amongst 11 different game cards. Some of those games being roulette, handball, baseball, and more. Most of the games were made by one person, Ralph H.   • Atari 2600 1977

    Atari 2600 1977
    The Atari 2600 coming out was a huge change in the gaming industry. Many games a lot of people know such as PONG, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong. These game developers are Toru Iwatani with a 9 person team, Shigeru Miyamoto, and lastly Nolan Bushnell.

  • Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) 1983

    Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) 1983
    The (NES) was when gaming really took off. It showcased different games that no one had ever though of. Some notable games on the console were Tetris, Baseball, Duck Hunt, Ice Climber, and of course, Super Mario Bros. Game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto made one of the most well known games still known to this day. Super Mario Bros allowed new idea for more video games to flourish which is why I put this in here.

  • Sega Genesis 1989

    Sega Genesis 1989
    The Sega Genesis introduced new games and a new way to game. The Sega Genesis was one of the very first consoles to introduce CD's as a way to put the game on the system. Given that information some of the games that were released with the Genesis were, Streets of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes 2, and the most well known, Sonic the Hedgehog. The game developers were Sega, Sonic Team, M2, Backbone Entertainment, Ancient.
  • Sony Playstation 1995

    Sony Playstation 1995
    The original Playstation was one of the most popular video game consoles of its time. It sold over 6 million units in six months. Many popular games that are still very popular to this day weren't released with the Playstation, which were Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil, Tekken 3, and Gran Turismo. Kazunori Yamauchi was the developer of Gran Turismo and was the beginning of racing games.
  • Xbox 2001

    Xbox 2001
    Now I will talk about the PlayStation's competitor, the Xbox. The original Xbox released with many games. Some notable names are, Dead or Alive 3, Project Gotham Racing, Fuzion Frenzy, and of course, the very first Halo. The developers of this game were Lars Bakken, Dave Pottinger, Ed Fries, Scott Warner, Alex Pfeiffer, Daniel Miller. The Xbox sold 1.5 million units in 6 months.
  • Nintendo DS 2004

    Nintendo DS 2004
    The Nintendo DS 2004 was the very first handheld console that was advertised as "games on the go", this would indent the gaming industry as we know it. This would open up a whole new world for game console makers. Some notable that were available on the DS were, Asphalt: Urban GT. Feel The Magic XY/XX. Madden NFL 2005. Metroid Prime Hunters: The First Hunt. and Spider-Man 2. The most popular one being Super Mario 64 DS. The creator of this amazing game was Shigeru Miyamoto.
  • Nintendo Wii 2006

    Nintendo Wii 2006
    The Nintendo Wii is a classic for everybody. The Wii introduced a new way to have fun, and that was being on your feet and being active. The Wii had games such as, Madden 07, Avatar The Last Airbender, Need for Speed, and of course Wii Sports. Wii Sports was a way for people to have the same amount of fun they would have on a video game, but also being active and fit. Kazumi Totaka was the designer of this game and Nintendo, Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development were the developers.

    Skipping forward in time a bit, I'd like to talk about the Nintendo Switch. It was influenced by the Nintendo DS except there was one difference, it's not only constricted to being a handheld device. It can be set up to the TV or any monitor. This is/was one of the most popular game consoles ever bought. The reason for this being is Nintendo offering the people some new to look forward to. One of the best game on this console is Super Mario Kart 8 Delux. The developers being, Nintendo and Namco.
  • PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X

    PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X
    These two consoles changed the gaming world forever. They are made by the same companies who created the first additions. However, these Next Gen consoles offered a gaming experience nobody has ever seen before. Better graphics, frames, speed, storage. And that's just the start. These two consoles basically offer the same games that they had in the past just better and upgraded. However the PlayStation created optic controllers that make you feel more in depth with the game that you are playing.
