    Causes for Venezuelan Revolution
    -The creolles wanted more political power, becauses they only had social and economical one. Also, they wanted to govern themselves and be free from Spain.
    -When Napoleon invaded Spain, Venezuelan revolutionaries saw an opportunity to get freedom.
    -Enlightened ideas, the independence, and the french revolution influenced the Venezuelan revolutionaries to search for independence.

    -The king of Spain was overthrowned by Napoleon Bonaparte prodiving an opening for anti-colonial movements fighting for independence.
    -The territories of New Granada Viceroyalty set up their own independent govenment.
  • Venezuelan declaration of independence

    Stated that seven of the Venezuelan colonies are going to be free from the Spanish crown, in order to stablish a new nation based on equality of individuals, abolition of censorship, and freedom of expression.

    The first republic was destroyed and Simon Bolivar wrote the "Manifesto de Cartagena" that shows the failures of the first republic and the causes: federal system, Caracas earthquake, bad administration of money, and the Catholic Church influence.
