  • Humorology Show

    Humorology Show
    Humorology is a musical/ variety show that fraternities and sororities work together to create in order to raise money for a variety of local organizations. It has been a tradition on the UW-Madison campus since 1948. Each year, 600 students spend their year writing, composing, choreographing, and directing original mini-musical comedies for a showcase.
  • Miflin Street Block Party

    Miflin Street Block Party
    The Miflin Street Block Party, which began 48 years ago as a protest of the Vietnam War, has now become a huge celebration for over 12,000 undergraduate UW students. Houses on the 400 and 500 blocks of West Mifflin Street open their doors and yards to anyone walking by, creating a continuous party down the two blocks. While this Block Party is based around alcohol, it has become part of the UW culture and tradition and is seen as a celebration for finishing the school year.
  • Snowball Fight

    Snowball Fight
    The Bascom Hill snowball fight, called Battle for Bascom, has been an ongoing tradition that takes place when classes are canceled for the day. The snowball fight puts the students living in Lakeshore against the students living in Southeast dorms. Everyone is welcome to the free-for-all snowball fight that usually lasts 90 minutes. Facebook events have been created for this in the hope of beating the unofficial record for the world’s largest snowball fight.
  • Hoofers Winter Carnival

    Hoofers Winter Carnival
    The Hoofers Winter Carnival has become a tradition on the UW campus that challenges students to go out into the cold and have fun. This tradition includes events like Hoofer Ski & Snowboard Rail Jam, Kite Making & Flying with Wheelhouse Studios, Turkey Bowling with Rec Sports, Broomball with Rec Sports, Ice Golf with Rec Sports, Human Curling and more. All students are welcome to join and enjoy the fireworks at the end of the carnival over Lake Mendota.
  • WASB

    WASB
    The Wisconsin Association of School Boards is a non-profit organization that advocates for education and students. Each spring, WASB links up with the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) and other student organizations to sponsor the All-Campus Party. This All-Campus Party Week begins with a breakfast with Bucky in multiple areas on campus and ends with Bucky's Battle Buddies where students can get a glimpse into the training that the soldiers on campus do.
  • Campus Farmers Market

    Campus Farmers Market
    Union South hosts a weekly farmers market featuring local and organic products from nearby vendors. Students would go to Union South to pick up and try new foods in between their classes. This event offers farm to table meals and serves as a way to connect students to local businesses and vendors and offers opportunity for UW Health entrepreneurs.
  • Welcome Week

    Welcome Week
    The University of Wisconsin creates events such as a road race, a festival at Union South, a Multicultural Graduate Network welcome celebration, and workshops on topics that interest incoming college students. The welcome week events take place all over campus and help acclimate new students to the UW campus as well as allow students to meet one another.
  • Homecoming Weekend

    Homecoming Weekend
    UW-Madison celebrates alumni students and faculty by hosting multiple events like a Langdon Street Block Party, live musical concerts, a parade and more. Homecoming has been a famous weekend at UW, bringing back some old faces and celebrating the football game more intense than ever before.
  • Freakfest Musical Festival

    Freakfest Musical Festival
    Freakfest in Madison is known to be one of the largest Halloween celebrations in the Midwest. The city blocks off State Street and thousands of people dressed up in costumes come flooding to the street to listen to dozens of bands, bar hop and try the local food. Freakfest costs $10 if you buy the ticket in advance and $15 if you buy it at the event. The performances usually begin at 7PM and go until the late hours of the night.
  • Madison Marathon

    Madison Marathon
    The Madison Marathon is open to everyone of all ages and starts and ends on Capitol Square. This Marathon normally takes place on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend where runners get to go around the entire city. Supporters stand on the sidelines cheering and offering water while DJ's along the track play music. Whether you choose to participate or just watch, it is a crowded and exciting time of the year.
