    The part of slavery in America was further established by this agreement. It maintained the balance by admitting Maine as a free state and Missouri as a slave state. Additionally, it said that any state below Missouri's border would be considered a slave state if they so desired, but all other states would be free.

    Many Mexicans in Texas decided to declare their independence because they didn't like the way Santa Anna was enforcing the law. Texas was home to a large American population, who desired stronger bonds to the US. This desire for independence eventually resulted in a war that saw Texas named a Lone Star, and later, an American state.

Everybody who heard about the large pieces of land in California that were discovered (around 300,000 individuals) hurried there to attempt to obtain a piece of the profit. Only those with money and power already received any money, and the land as a result was entirely destroyed.

    Ended the war with Mexico, which allowed America to expand westward and gain a great deal of territory. This was one of the few colonialist wars America engaged in, proving its ability to fight wars to expand its influence throughout the continent now that it is industrializing. This was supported using the reasons of Manifest Destiny and the idea of gaining all the land on a certain continent.

    Although the Civil War, which was fought for slavery, had many long-lasting effects on America, the issue was never actually settled. However, because the Union side promised equal treatment and opportunity, many black soldiers sided with them during the war. Politically, economically, and socially, it set a standard for American history and continues to serve as one of the country's most important lessons.

    African Americans undoubtedly fought for the right to vote for years, and finally gave them the right to vote. However, this view of the 15th Amendment still made a certain group of individuals angry and disappointed. Even those who had given up their time to fight for the rights of black people in America were still denied the opportunity to vote.

    Another failed attempt to reduce the discrimination that African Americans faced. Although the purpose was fair, the reality fell short, and this law was once again not enforced. Eventually, in 1883, the Supreme Court declared this law unconstitutional, further proving the social stigma of African Americans.
