John F. Kennedy was assassinated while traveling through Dallas, Texas. He was allegedly shot by Lee Harvey Oswald. He died at the age of 46. -

Watergate Scandal
Political scandal that took place on June 17, 1972. Several burglars were caught inside the office of the Democratic National Committee, in the Watergate building in Washington, D.C. They were trying to wiretap phones and steal documents. The robbers were connected to President Nixon's reelection campaign. -

President Richard M. Nixon becomes the first U.S. president to resign. He ended his term as the 37th president of the United States. -
Hurricane Carmen
Hurricane Carmen was a major Atlantic hurricane, it started on August 29 and ended on September 10, 1974. It started in Africa and made its way to Texas. It caused around $162 million in damage. -
Vietnam War
Known as the Second Indochina War, the Vietnam War was a long and controversial war. It was between Northern Vietnam and Southern Vietnam, with the U.S. as their ally. It started in 1954, after the rise of Ho Chi Minh. The U.S. withdrew from the war in 1973, and the war ended in 1975, after the communist forces seized control of Saigon. -

Apple Computers, Inc. was founded on April 1, 1976, by college dropouts Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Today, Apple is worth around $750 billion.
