    Warren Harding becomes the 29th US president

    This Act restricted the number of immigrants allowed into the US from each country.

    The stock market began its crash that would eventually lead to the Great Depression.

  • Roosevelt's "New Deal"

    President Roosevelt promised his New Deal which would help to end the Great Depression. He would later create many new acts to help the American people.

  • Emergency Banking Act

    Roosevelt enacts the Emergency Banking Act which closed all US banks in order to stop the failing economy.

  • Federal Emergency Relief Act

    Made by Roosevelt, this act created more federal jobs.

  • Soil Conservation Act & Domestic Allotment

    This Act paid farmers to plant soil building crops.

  • The Rural Electrification Act

    This Act brought electricity to rural areas to help generate farms.

  • Pearl Harbor Attacked

    Pearl Harbor is bombed by the Japanese, killing thousands.
