Prohibition
It was a prohibition for driking alcohol in USA imposed by the american's constitution. Due to these restrictions of alcohol, even for the ownership of alcohol who selled alcohol, it caused the creation of some mafias "crime organisations" who distributed the alcohol during this prohibition. Finally it ended in 1933, but it was such widespread that the mafias were even composed by politicians or police forces. -
WASP's, Communist and anarchists' preocupation
It's an informal term which represent to the white anglosaxon and protestant people. Actually it mean White Anglo-Saxon and Protestant. It's a close group in USA with English offspring with a high social position who lived in USA. They believed that people such anarchists and communists were coming into the USA and undermining the American way of life. They were also alarmed at the number of Asian, Catholic and Jewish people who were entering the USA -

Social Position of Women Change
In 1920s the social position of woman changed because they were encouraged to gain economic independence (trained as typists or secretaries)New office jobs provided employment for many women, church attendance fell and divorce increasedand finally rising high school and college attendance meant women were better educated than before. -
Warren Gamaliel Harding
He was the 29th President of the United States and republican, born in Ohio. He started working as an publisher journalist. But then he started working as senator, and finally he was elected president of USA. Warren G Harding raised tariffs to protect American industry. He died during his mandate. -
Roaring Twenties
It was a period of economical prosperity which took place in USA during 1922-1929. It had advantages to everybody, who saw the economy improving like they have never seen. But at the same time it was creating a Economic Buble. Everything was really good those days, but the evil started on 24th October 1929, when started the Black Thursdays and the Wall Street Crash. With all that the Great Depression will start in 1929. -
Ku Klux Klan
The KU Klux Klan is name that received some groups of extreme- right winger in XIX. They defend the white supremacy, white nationalism, and anti-immigration, homophobia and xenophobia. They want to express by means of terrorism. In the 1920s the immigrants were less welcome. Then the KKK was reformed and expannded throught USA. Finally in 1925 the KKK declined but the intolerance and racism remained. -
The Great Depression
The 3 main causes because the Great Depression started were: the World economy was producing too much, the boom encouraged borrowing and Europe couldn’t afford US goods. Firstly it stated with a economic recession, but it was worse than this, because the economy was falling rapidly. The consequences of this fallen in economy are explained in Wall Stree Crash. -
Wall Street Crash
Wall Street is the trade center for the USA (and the world)The people started selling shares, so the consequence were prices dropped and the business collapsed and people ruined but the banks couldn’t keep value of shares artificially because there wasn't money. The banks failed and government should not interfere.

Black Thursday
It was the day in which the New York Stock Exchange started falling and with it the Crash of Wall Street. It was a really panic situation that caused the next bank crisis in USA.

The First Hundred Days
These days were characterized by important expenses in government programs. These days had to take urgent measures in order to have the economical recovery and the return of the confidence of the american people. The reforms taken by the new President, were very controversial. Because it arrived to the democratic parties and even it was used a xenophobic speech, and later Rooselvert was demanded by his Socialist reforms. -
Hoover Lost
1500 army veterans had gathered in Washington to demand extra bonus payments not due until 1945. Two protesters were killed by police, and 63 injured to clear their encampments. The democrats swept to power with FD Roosevelt gaining 22m votes and Hoover 15m. -
New Deal
It was a series of economic programs in the USA. They involved presidential executive orders or laws passed by Congress during the first term of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Tese programs were made as a result of the Great Depression that were based on the 3 R: Relief, Recovery, and Reform;

CCC 1933-1942
Civilian Conservation Corps provided work for thousands of unemployed in forestry, water and soil conservation projects -

Public Works Administration which provided work building roads, bridges, hospitals.. -
AAA
Agricultural Adjustment Act helped farmers modernize and rebuild their businesses -

Franklin D. Roosevelt's Election
He was the 32nd President of the USA and the main figure because he leaded the United States during a time of economic depression and total war. He belonged to the Democratic Party. He built a New Deal Coalition that realigned American politics after 1932, as his domestic policies defined American liberalism. He defeated Hoover(Republican) during the Great Depression. -

Tennessee Valley Authority
It's an agency from the New Deal created in order to generate electrical energy and control the floods. The president Roosevelt signed it . And nowadays is such widespread that is the main public company of energy in America. -
NRA
National Recovery Administration drew up codes of fair competition, set minimum wages and a maximum eight-hour day -
Works Progress Administration
It was the first agency established under the New Deal. It was created by a presidential order. The mission with it was to give employment to million of american unemployed throught USA in order to execute public works programs. Due to the WPA, it was built 110000 schools, stations, post office 100000 bridges y 800000 km of roads were reforced. Finally, it ended on 30th June 1943 after have created 8 million of jobs. -
National Labor Relations Act
It's a foundational statute of US labor law which guarantees rights of private sector employers to organize into trade union, the colective negotation for better terms and conditions at work, and take collective action including strike if it was necessary. This act also created the National Labor Relations Board. -
Social Security Act
It was a law signed in USA which was approved in the Congress. This stablished the first administration rule destined to hold a welfare State. The law was signed by means of "New Deal" and by the President Roosevelt. This was led to the elderly people who were into badly damaged due to the poverty as a result of the Great Depression. -
USA WORLD WAR II
During 1930s the USA decided not to participate in the World War II, and the presient Roosevelt declared the neutrality of USA in the World War II with different acts. But the president orders the United States Customs Service to implement the Neutrality Act of 1939, allowing cash-and-carry purchases of weapons to non-belligerent nations.
