    The Invention of the Model T
    Henry Ford created the Model T in 1908 to be affordable, simple to operate and durable. This vehicle was one of the first mass production vehicles. The Model T was sold by the Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927.
  • The Zimmermann Telegram

    The Zimmermann Telegram
    The Zimmermann Telegram was a secret diplomatic communication issued in 1917. It was issued from the German Foreign Office, proposing an alliance between the German Empire and Mexico if the US entered the war against Germany. In the exchange for the assistance of Mexico, Germany would help Mexico regain their lost territories of Arizona, Texas and New Mexico.
  • The WW1 Armistice

    After more than four years of fighting and the loss of millions of lives, the guns on the western front went silent on November 11, 1918. Fighting continued elsewhere however the armistice between Germany and the Allies was the first massive step to the end of World War 1.

    Charles Lindbergh took the challenge of flying the first solo, nonstop transatlantic flight in history in 1919. The flight took 33 hours and 30 minutes (Including a delay due to the confusion of a light up landing field.)

    The 19th Amendment granted women the ability to vote. This amendment was passed by Congress on June 4, 1919 and was ratified on August 18, 1920.

    The New Deal was a series of programs, projects, financial reforms and regulations enacted by President Roosevelt in an effort to re-inflate the economy. This happened between 1933 and 1938

    On January 30th, 1933 Hitler rose to the position of Chancellor.

    The Munich Pact was an agreement that provided for the German annexation of Czechoslovakia.

    Hitler invades Poland
    Hitler wanted the Germans to live in Poland but in order to do so he used means of terrible violence and murder to get what he wanted. He destroyed the Jewish population and had all Polish people, including children and women, who would potentially go against German rule.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise attack by the military of the Imperial Japanese Nay Air Service. They attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii on Sunday December 7, 1941.

    On June 6th, 1944, more than 160000 Allied troops landed on a heavily guarded French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy. More than 5000 ships and 13000 aircrafts were used on the D-Day invasion. More than 9000 Allied soldiers were killed or wounded however that allowed for more than 100000 soldiers to slog across Europe and defeat Hitlers troops.
  • Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    America bombed the Japanese cities of Hiroshima (August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9, 1945) during World War 2, marking the first use of atomic weaponry in war. One day after the bombings the Japanese government agreed to accept the Allied surrender terms.

    The Formation of the United Nations
    Roosevelt wanted to convince the public that an international organization would be the best way to prevent future wars. The Senate approved the UN Charter on July 28, 1945 and the United Nations was formed on October 24th, 1945 after 29 nations had ratified the charter.

    George Kennan (1904 - 2005) was asked to explain why the Soviet Union was opposed to the newly formed World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, but he also took the opportunity to offer an essay about the methods and motives of the Soviet communism and gave suggestions as to how the United States should react. To cable a message that was longer than 5,000 words was unusual which showed the urgency of the report.

    On August 29th 1949, the Soviet Union secretly preformed its first successful weapon test.

    This was a debate in the Supreme Court that was based around the matter than racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional even if the schools were equal in quality.

    Apollo 11 was the success that President JFK promised. On July 20th 1969 Armstrong took "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind."

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a direct confrontation between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War where the two superpowers came close to using nuclear weaponry.
  • JFK's Assassination

    JFK's Assassination
    JFK was killed by a shooter while he rode in a motorcar in Dallas, Texas. The accused shooter was Lee Harvey Oswald, a former US Marine who had defected for a bit to the Soviet Union. The man never stood trial because he was shot by a Dallas nightclub owner while being transferred into custody.

    The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution increased the military role of the US in the Vietnam War and allowed President Johnson to take any measures he believed were necessary to retaliate and maintain international peace.

    The Watergate Break-ins were a few break-ins by the same people who were planting listening devices and trying to take pictures of files within the Watergate building. Some theories suggest that President Nixon called this burglary himself and the men were doing the dirty work.

    January 1, 1983 it considered the day that the internet was created. Previously computers did not have a standard way to communicate with each other. The new communication protocol was called the Internetwork Protocol or the Transfer Control Protocol.

    The Berlin wall was a concrete barrier that encircled West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, separating it from East Berlin. The fall of this wall was the first step towards German reunification.

    On September 11th 2001, four coordinated Islamist suicide terrorist attacks occurred against the United States. The terrorists hijaked four commercial passenger airplanes flying two into the World Trade Center in New York. A third plane hit the Pentagon in Virginia. The passengers in the fourth plane fought back and the plane downed in a field near Pennsylvania. These attacks led to the invasion of Afghanistan.
  • COVID 19 Pandemic

    The pandemic was announced on January 30, 2020 and has no end date. The sickness itself will continue however not with the same death rate as before.
