  • Proclamation of 1763

    this proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian mountains. The british government feared that the cnflict between colonists and Native a mericas would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. colonists were proclamation they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohioi River Valley after winning the french and indian war

  • Quarering Act

    This was something the Coloniss had to do.. They had to house British troops. They also had to provide them with supplies. the colonist did not like this for a lot of reasons.
  • The Stamp Act

    The stamp act was a law. It made everyone put a legal stamp on documents to show that they paid their tax. This angerd the colonist becouse they had to pay even more tax.
  • Townshend Acts

    When the Quartering act was not working, they came up whith an ideato passtownshend act. The Townshend Acts made colonist house troops. Their goal was to anger the colonists.
  • Tea act/ Boston tea party

    The Tea Act placed tax on tea and the colonist could only drink one kind of tea wich was made in Britain. This made colonist very mad wich led to theBostonTea Party. The Boton Tea Party was when a group of men bourded three ships that were transpoting tea and threw all the tea in the water.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The lexington and Concord were the first battels of the road to revolutoin. They didnt really want war but someone shot their gone and no one knew who it was so they all shot their guns and fought.That shot was called The Shot Heard Around The Wourld.
  • The Olive Branch Potiton

    In May of 1775, the Second Continental Congress met to discuss the ongoing problems between Great Britain and the colonies. A small group of soldiers, led by John Adams, felt that war with Great Britain was not needed. However,trying to avoid war did not work. They passed a resolution known as the Olive Branch Petition.
  • Declaration of Independence

    This was when the colonist did not want to be a part of Britain. In order to reach their goal, they wrote a note to Britain saying that the didnt want to be a pat of Britain anymore. Manny people signed he paper but the bigest one was John Hancocks.
