Proclamation of 1763
This is a law passes by the British government to stop the colonist from expanding towards the Appalachian mountains. They made this decision since they ran out of money after the French and Indian war and had no way to protect the colonist from natives if they were to be attacked. -

The proclamation that made did not allow colonist to expand more sine Britain was in debt after the war. This angered colonist since they could not expand their land anymore. -
Sugar act of 1764
This was the first attempt from the British government to control the economy in the colonies. This act reduced the places they could obtain sugar from. The only places colonist could buy sugar from is from British owned/related land. -

The Stamp act of 1765
This law passed by the British government passed forced colonist to pay taxes each time they bought a official paper or if the had official papers already. This includes birth certificates, news papers, playing cards, dices and pamphlet This applied for every single sheet of paper.. -

This taxed colonist for any official papers they owned or that they buy. This started increasing tension in the colonies since colonist had to pay extra for paper they bough or already owned. This act was removed to try to calm colonist but colonist were already taxed by other methods. -
The quartering act of 1765
This was a law that was passed by the British governors since barracks could not house all of their soldiers. This act forced colonist to have to keep soldiers in their homes. The soldiers were needed to be feed and stay in for free in the colonists home's. Colonist would be punished if they did not take care of the soldiers in their homes. -

This law made soldiers that would not fit in a barrack live in a colonist's house. This increased more tension in the colonies since colonist had to take care of soldiers and needed to be careful on what they said around them -
Townshend act of 17667
Tis law was passed by the British Government. This act taxed colonist for buying goods; this included glass, paper, lead, tea and paint like products. -

This taxed colonist on paper, lead, glass etc. This act was later removed since the British government was gaining no profit. The only thing that remained from this act was the tax on tea; which furthermore, angered the colonist since they saw this as an attempt from the British to calm colonist down and buy from Britain. -
Boston Massacre
This was an event that caused the Boston Tea party. A mob of colonist had attacked British soldiers and one of them accidentally fire. After this soldiers shot at the crowd and killed 5 colonist. This was used as advertisement to make the British look evil -

This was an attempt from British to make colonist buy tea from Britain. This angered colonist since they had to pay much more for something they had daily and increased tensions since they were already heavily taxed. -
The Tea act of 1773
This law passed by the British government allowed their east Indian company to directly ship tea to the colonist. Tea prices were made cheaper but this did not convince colonist to buy the tea -
The Boston Tea Party
This was a political rebellion against the British. In this event the colonist wanted to throw away the tea from 3 British ships. 60 members from the sons of liberty entered the ships ( a secret colonist organization), some dressed as native Americans, they threw away 340 chests filled with tea. This lasted for 2 hours. This made colonist feel accomplished since they felt they did something to harm the eeonomy in Great Britain This was when war became inevitable between the colonies and Britain -
The intolerable acts of 1774
This law was passed by the British governors as a response to the British tea party. This did not allow colonist to gather and also brought back the Quartering act. This led to the The First Continental Congress and colonist boycotted British Trading. This angered colonist and increased tension in the colonies since they felt that their were taking their rights -

This was a punishment for the colonist later the Boston tea party. but was later repealed. This increased tensions in the colonist since it removed rights from the colonist. Colonist did not care they were punished since they felt they have accomplished something. -

This was part of the British government response to the Boston tea party (intolerable act). This act forced colonist to have to keep soldiers in their homes . The soldiers were needed to be feed and stay in for free in the colonists home's. Colonist would be punished if they did not take care of the soldiers in their homes. This act was brought back along with the intolerable acts and did not allow colonist to group up and had soldiers in colonist homes. soldiers had to be taken good care of. This increased even more tensions since they not only had to take care of British soldiers but also be careful with what they do or say. -
Battles of Lexington & Concord
This was the point when the colonies had enough tension and that they decided to attack the British soldiers. During the night many redcoats were coming from Boston and were going to a concord meeting The soldiers had to retreat from the battle before it got worse for them. This was the point where the American Revolution was about to begin. -

Olive Branch Petition
This was written by Jonh Dickinson. The petition was adopted by the Second Continental Congress on July 5, 1775; It signed on July 8 in a final attempt to avoid war between Great Britain and the Thirteen Colonies in America. The colonist wanted to show that they were still loyal to the king hoping to avoid war. Even after this, The king declined, The king saw anyone who did not obey his order and law to be traitors of Great Britain. At this point war was unavoidable. -

The Olive branch lasted through the whole American revolution. The letter was the final attempt to avoid war between Britain and the colonies, but it did not matter. The American revolutions was unavoidable.
