Proclamation
This proclaimation did not allow colonists to settle west of the Appalachian Moutains. The British goverment feared the conflict betwwen colonist and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford top pay Britsih troops to defend the western lands. Colonist were enraged by this proclaimation because they felt they won the right to settle in the Ohio River after winning the French and Indian War. -

Quartering Act
The colonist were forced to let the British troops in thier homes. The colonist were required to cook for them, clean for them, and to give them a place to sleep. The troops also got to stay for as long as they wanted. -
Townshed Act
In the Townshed act Parliment raises taxes on paint,glass,tea, and other goods. Parliments also suspened all assembilies until New Yorkers agree to house British troops. -
Tea Act and Boston Tea Party
The Tea Act only allowed the colonist to be taxed on tea and buy tea from only on British company. The colonist got very angry. The Sons of Liberty arrenged a protest. They destroyed all the tea that was sent from the king, this was known as the Boston Tea Pary. -
Inolerable Acts
In the Intolerable Acts, Britian closes all ports in Boston until the colonist pay back all the money for destroyed tea in the Boston Tea Party. This act also banned committes of correspondence. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
This was when 70 militamen and 700 British troops meet at Lexington. Both did not surreneder. Then someone fired their gun. Nobody knew from what side it came from. (The shot was known as "shot heard around the world) This is what started the Revolution. The British troops then marched to Concored. A was broke out at the bridge there between the colonist and the British troops. -
Olive Branch Petition
This petition was the colonist's last hope in having peace with Britian. All the colonist asked were to restore the harmony and to keep peace with the British. When the king got the letter in London, he had rejected the document and decied to punish them instead. -
Declaration of Independence
This was when Thomas Jefferson mad a document to declare thier independence to Britian. Congress had choosen Thomas Jefferson to write this document. In this document it was also stated why they want to part from Britian and become independent states.
