Cuban Missile Crisis
Revelation of Soviet missiles under construction in Cuba.President Kennedy imposed a naval quarantine around Cuba. On October 22nd President Kennedy proclaimed that any nuclear missile launched from Cuba would be regarded as an attack on the United States and soviets were damanded to remove all there offensive weapons from Cuba.Tensions finally began to ease on October 28 when Khrushchev announced that he would dismantle the installations and return the missiles to the Soviet Union. -

On April 30 the Vietnam war was over, a war that have started in 1959.It was struggle between nationalist forces attempting to unify the country of Vietnam under a communist government and the United States attempting to prevent the spread of communism. Engaged in a war that many viewed as having no way to win, U.S. leaders lost the American public's support for the war. Since the end of the war, the Vietnam War has become a benchmark for what not to do in all future U.S. foreign conflicts. -

After U.S. President Jimmy Carter brokers peace between Egypt and Israel, Egypt becomes the first Arab nation to recognize Israel, and Israel withdraws from the rest of Sanai. Sixteen months after Egyptian President Anwar Sadats dramitic visits Jerusalem Isreal and Egypt sighned a peace treaty. -
OSLO ACCORDS
Brokered in Norway, Israel turns over parts of the West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinians as a step toward statehood, Israel and Jordan sign a peacce treaty in 1994. Oslo Accords was implemented, as Israel and the PA signed the Cairo Agreement, giving the Palestinians control over Gaza and Jericho.
