    Shays' Rebellion

    The Shays' Rebellion was led by Daniel Shays when he and other veterans saw that debt and few economic support was rising between them. They thought that this was due to the Articles of Confederation. When they saw that no state representative were going to help them, they started this rebellion.
  • Revising the Articles of the Confederation

    A convention was taken place in May 1787 which revised the articles of the confederation. This meeting took place due to economic problems that the early nation was facing and the destructive movements (such as the Shays's Rebellion) that were taking place. This pressured political leaders to establish a better central government, therefore, they decided to meet to revise the Articles of the Confederation in this day.

    The Virginia Plan was introduced by James Madison in the year of 1787. Its purpose was to have a strong federal government composed of three branches: Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.

The reason why this plan was not based on the size of the population was because the government wanted to protect the "The equality of the States". This meant that smaller states would have the same political power as the bigger states had.

    George Washington

    George Washington led troops that fought for the independence of the nation. He also became the first president of the United States between the years of 1789-1797 and is now considered one of the founding fathers of this nation. He has a painting called "Washington Crossing the Delaware" which illustrates him crossing the Delaware River on the night of December the 25th to win the American Independence.

    Bill of Rights
    The Bill of Rights was proposed by James Madison and went into effect in December 15, 1791 after being approved by congress. The Bill of Rights was added to the Constitution to protect the liberties that the people had from the federal government.
