In 1846 a group of pioneers went west. The axel on one of the wagon wheels broke, so the got stuck. While they made camp, 5 feet of snow dropped. They were stranded for 5 months. They ate all their food, cattle, twigs and leaves. This resorted to cannibalism. It's called the Donner Party because included was Tamzen and George Donner. -
The Texas Revolution
America went to war because they were angry at Mexico. Mexico said that settlers could live there if they became citizends and part of the church. However, all of the documents were in Spanish and they outlawed slavery. So the U.S. went to war until December 1836. (McDougal and Littel) -

Bleeding Kansas was a horrific sequence of brutal disputes about anti-slavery and pro-slavery, and which one was right. This presided in the Kansas territory and near towns in Missouri.
