On May 8th, 1945 Germany surrendered after Adolf Hilter committed suicide. This date becomes known as Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day) On Septemeber 2nd 1945 Japan after the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki by the United States military, Japan signed the surrender documents aboard the USS Missouri. This date becomes known as the Victory over Japan Day. -

President John F Kennedy is assassinated while riding in a 1961 Lincoln Continental through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Kennedy's assassin was former US Marine Lee Harvey Oswald who was apprehended by Dallas Police only 70 minutes after the shooting occured. -
