Walter Frederick Morrison
Walter Frederick Morrison and his partner Warren Franscioni invented a plastic version of the Frisbie in Los Angeles. Their version could fly further and with better precision than the pie tins. Walter died at the age of 90 in 2010.

Pluto Platter

Frisbie Baking Company
Frisbie Baking Company (1871-1958), was a company of Bridgeport, Connecticut. They made pies to many New England colleges. College students discovered that the empty pie tins could be thrown and caught.

First Ultimate Frisbee Game
In 1969 a team was formed in the school, they played in the parking lot. The newspaper team and student council and Joel Silver's friends made up the teams. (The only lines were the goal lines. Marked by telephone poles or the players’ coats).

First Championships
The National Collegiate Championships was the first organized tournament, played on April 25th, 1972. Eight teams participated, located at Yale. Rutgers won the final game against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (score was 28-24)

First College Game
Rutgers and Princeton played the first college ultimate game (Rutgers won, 29-27). The two colleges had also played the first intercollegiate football game on the same field exactly 103 years earlier and Rutgers won that game also by two points
