    The American Revolution was the time when the Colonies became a country with George Washington as their first president. They declared independence from Great Britain in 1776 with the Declaration of Independence.
  • The New Nation 1783-1815

    The New Nation 1783-1815
    With the birth of a nation they had to create laws and solidify how they would run the country. They then wrote the bill of rights in 1791, and the constitution in 1787 which stated that there will be check and balances, separation of power, and federalism to state a few.

    This was a very important time in American history, this era held the manifest destiny-a law that made Americans think they could take Native Americans land, the California Gold Rush-when hundreds of people rushed to California in order to find gold and make it big,there was also the Temperance movement-a group of people who wanted alcohol to be illegal, and finally the Womans Suffrage movement-Woman standing up for themselves and fighting to vote and be equal to men.

    The Civil War was when the north and south began to disagree about slavery. The north-the Union-wanted to abolish slavery and the south-The Confederacy-wanted to keep it, resulting in war. Eventually Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation declaring that all slaves are from then on free.

    This was when the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments were ratified. This was also when the Ku Klux Klan was founded from literally the brimstone of hell, and also the jim crow laws were passed which stated that segregation was to be in effect all across america

    While the boom of agriculture and railroad and farming was great the Americans began to infringe on Native American territory and that gave rise to conflicts and fights.

    The Gilded Age was when America began to become industrial. Some people also used the loose laws to monopolize the economy and become unnecessarily rich, for example Andrew Carnegie. This was also when big cities began to form

    This was a time of democratic reforms, they began regulating the market so there werent as many monopolies, more consumer protection and environmental awareness, the womans suffrage for the 19th amendment, prohibition was also in effect

    This era was about the us expanding its territory over seas, the us annexed hawaii but then brought them back as a state in 1900, Teddy Rosevelt is President and the Spansh-U.S. war was going on. These are so repetitive and this timeline is taking longer than it should I hope these are correct.
