This was a confrontation started when the US put missiles in Italy and turkey. The Soviet Union responded by putting missiles in Cuba. After a 13 day confrontation the US removed it's Turkish Missiles. The Soviets removed their Cuban missiles. -

This was a terrorist attack on the US. Two airplanes hit the Twin towers. An airplane also hit the octagon. An airplane that was meant for the white house was crashed in a field by the brave citizens who took the airplane back from terrorist control. Also. I forgot the month and day of this event and had to look it up... Kind of sad.
