To stop monopolies engaging in unfair practices that prevent fair competition. The Act marked a significant change, in the attitude of congress against the abuses of big business.

Panamal Canal
Panama was part of the federation and country of Colombia but when Colombia rejected U.S plan to build a canal across the isthmus of panama. The U.S. supported a revolution that led to the independence of panama in 1903. The Hay-Bunau-cadilla treaty allowed to build the Panama Canal & provided perpetual control of a zone five-miles wide. Once it was done the U.S. held a swath of land running the approximately 50 miles across the isthmus of panama. -
19th amendment
Women got the the right to vote. Several generations of woman suffrage supporters lectured, wrote, marched, lobbied, and practiced civil disobedience to achieve what many Americans considered a radical change of the Constitution.

The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, in the United States Territory of Hawaii.

Was an American initiative to aid Europe, in which the United States gave $13 billion in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II.

Brown vs. Board
It Was a landmark United States Supreme Court case in which the Court declared state laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional.

Berlin Wall
West Berlin was a geographical loophole through which thousands of East Germans fled to the democratic West. In The response the Communist East German authorities built a wall that totally encircled West Berlin.

9/11
The day on which Islamic terrorists, believed to be part of the Al-Qaeda network, hijacked four commercial airplanes and crashed two of them into the World Trade Center in New York City and a third one into the Pentagon in Virginia. The fourth plane crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania.
