In the reconstuction era 13,14, and 15 rights were passed that gave rights to slaves and women. During this era there were also laws passed to enforce segragation called jim crow laws. there was also a hate group called the ku klux klan. -
The Gilded Age
In the gilded age all kinds of industries were formed and behind this was robber barons. there was new technology like steel,railroads, and oil. As the Indusries grew big there were more jobs for people. There was new imagration from ireland, Germany, China, and Russia. There was a labor union that imported people from China to work for them -
Imperialism
During this Alfred Thayer Mahan wrote a novel saying the one with the biggest navy will be dominant. A conflict rose between the united states and spain. Spain had all of the western hemispere. We won and secured the position of a pacific power.We also built the panama canal in France which connects the atlantic ocean to the pacific ocean. -
World War 1
During World War 1 The British ship lusitania was sunken by a Germans ships torpedo. America allied with the British, the French, and the Russians.During World War 1 there was lots of new weapondry this was; the machine guns and chemical warfare. Lastly Woodrow Wilson past the treaty of verasailles. -
Jazz Age
During the Jazz Age women gained alot of thier rights. The Harlem renaissance was a time period were jazz music, art, and literature grew. There were girls called flappers who love to party and went to speakeasies or partys that were held in secrets. When Alchohol was band bootleggers would make moonshine in secret. -
The Great Depression
During the Great Depression when you join the stock market you could become rich over night. the stock market crashed and people left after losing money. People panicked and tried to withdraw money from the bank. The bank foreclosed and businesses laid of workers. The dust bowl ruined crops and farmers went bankrupt. -
World War 2
During World War 2 the axis of evil was formed which was Germany, Italy, and Japan. Another name of the war was the two front war. In America There were wars called the war at home and the war of civilians which was were everyone was rushing to do there part for the war. They also used aircrafts, rockets, and atomic weapons in the war. -
Cold War
During the Cold War America was a capialist superpower and Russia was a communist superpower and both saw each other as threats. America won the space race which was a race to get a man in space and on the moon. The Russians and Cubians theatend to use a missile on the U.S. In the end the Glastnost was past and the Russian people got freedom. -
The Gulf War
During the Gulf War Saddam Hussein became a dictator and attacked Kuwait. George W. Bush Launched Operation Iraqi freedom to invade Iraq because of oil. -
9/11
During 9/11 Al Queda was formed and took part in terrorist attacks. 9/11 was when terrorist took over two of Americas planes and crashed them into the twin towers. After this America started two wars the Iraq war and the Afghanistan war.
