The Start of the War
Helen was the fairest woman in the world. She was the princess of Sparta. Paris went to the Palace as a guest. However, when Menelaus, the king of Sparta, left, Paris took Helen to Troy. Menelaus called upon all of Greece to help rescue Helen. -
The Judgement of Paris
Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite wanted to know who was the fairest. They asked Zeus to juge them. However, he told them that they should ask Paris, a mortal. They went to Paris and each bribed him so that he would pick them. Athena bribed him by saying that she could crush the Greeks. Hera said that she could make him king of Asia and Europe. Aphrodite said that she could give him the most beautiful woman in the world. Paris chose Aphrodite as the fairest. -
The Sacrifice of Iphigenia
The Greek army couldn't leave because the wind was too strong. The only way to stop the wind was to sacrifice Iphigenia. Her father, Agamemnon, sent for her by telling her that she was going to get married. When she came, she was killed on an altar. The wind stopped and the Greeks were able to set sail. -
The Battle Begins
The greatest warrior of Troy was Hector. The Greeks' greatest warrior was Achilles. They Greeks and the Trojans fought for nine years without any side taking an advantage. -
The Greeks Capture Chryseis
The Greeks captured Chryseis, a the daughter of the priest of Apollo. The Trojans prayed to Apollo to save Chryseis. Apollo heard their prayer and shot firey arrows onto the Greek army. The Greeks finally agreed to give her back to the Trojans. -
Achilles Leaves the Greek Army
When the Greeks gave Chryseis back the the Trojans, Agamemnon wanted another girl. He took Achilles' girl, but Achilles told Agamemnon that he would reget it. Achilles left the Greek Army and left them at a huge disadvantage. -
The Gods Choose Sides
The war had eventually reached Olympus, and the gods chose sides. Athena, Hera, and Poseidon went on the Greeks side. Aphrodite, Apollo, Arteimis, and Ares supported the Trojans. Zeus also sided with the Trojans, but he tried to stay neutral because Hera supported the Greeks. -
Menelaus and Paris Fight
The two armies backed off and allowed only Menelaus and Paris to duel. They threw their spears at each other, but they both missed. Menelaus jumped onto Paris and would have killed him, but Aporodite saved Paris and took him to Troy. -
Hector and Diomedes Fight
Diomedes came face to face with Hector. He was going to fight, but saw that Ares was helping him. Diomedes wanted to retreat, but Athena told him to stand his ground and fight. He threw his spear at Ares, and Athena drove it through his chest. -
The Trojans Retreat
Ares went to complain to Zeus about Athea's violence. Without Ares, the Trojans were forced to fall back. -
Zeus Aids the Trojans
Zeua ordered all of the gods to stay in Olympus, and he went to help the Trojans. With both Zeus and Hector against them, the Greeks were pushed to their ships. -
The Greeks Fight Back
Hera distracted Zeus by making herself look beautiful. This caused him to fall in love and forget about the Trojans. The Greeks were able to fight back wound Hector. They drove the Trojans from their ships to the walls of Troy. The city may have been destroyed if Zeus didn't wake up. -
The Greeks Get Pushed Back Again
Zeus was infuriated at Hera. She said it wasn't her fault that the Trojans were loosing. She said thst Poseidon was the reason why the Greeks were doing so well. Zeus ordered Poseidon to stop giving the Greeks aid. Apollo was able to heal Hector and he returned to battle. Zeus and Hector pushed the Greeks back to their boats. -
Patroclus' Army
Achilles gave his friend, Patroclus his armor and men. He told him to fight off the Trojans. At first, the Trojans thought that it was Achilles fighting and they faultered. However, Hector soon saw it was Patroclus and fought him. Hector killed Patroclus and took Achilles' armor. This made Hector almost unstoppable. -
Achilles Leads the Greeks Into Battle
Thetis gave Achilles armor from Hephaestus. Achilles led the Greeks into battle and they were able to push the Trojans all the way back to the gates of Troy. The Trojan army retreated into the city, but Hector was the only one to stand his ground. -
Achilles Kills Hector
Hector faced Achilles and fought him. He couldn't even hurt Achilles because of his magical armor. Achilles knew the weakest spot in Hector's armor and stabbed him with his spear, -
Death of Achilles
Achilles knew he was going to die soon because he killed Hector. Achilles was shot by Paris in his only weak spot, the heel. Ajax took him from the battlefield and placed his bones in the same urn as Patroclaus. -
The Greeks FInd a Way Into Troy
The Greeks didn't know how to get into the city of Troy. They eventually figured out a way to sneak into the city, They built a giant wooden horse and climbed into it. They used it as a disguise to get inside the walls. -
The Greek Army Enters Toy
The horse was taken into the city by the Trojans. The Greeks inside the horse waited until nighttime to let the army into the city. When the army entered, they lit fires throughout the entire city. Before the Trojans realized what was going on, Troy was already burning. -
The Greek Army Destroys Troy
The Greek Army caught the Trojans by surpirse. They slaughtered the whole city, and by morning all but one of the leaders were dead. All that was left of Troy was a group of helpless women. One woman still had her child, but the Greeks took it and threw him off of the wall. Troy was left in ruin.
