Traveling Through Time

  • Birth Of A Queen

    Birth Of A Queen
It was a Thursday night, my mother had been having contractions all day, and I was so dilated that my head was almost out of the womb. When the time came for me and my mother to meet, everyone was aware of it. Around three in the morning on Friday, my family arrived to welcome me into the world.
  • My First Dance

    My First Dance
My final year in middle school before switching to high school was about to expire. As the 8th grade dance drew near, I was both anxious and eager since it would be the first time my classmates would see me clothed outside of a school uniform and outside of a classroom. Overall, it was quite enjoyable and good to learn more about my classmates.
  • Out the Country

    Out the Country
After middle school, it was summer, a great time to go swimming, to amusement parks, and on excursions. It was my first time traveling outside of the United States, and it was nerve-wracking to go somewhere where you know no one, but that's honestly what made it better—no worries, just infinite fun. My mom's birthday was approaching, so she surprised my family by taking us to Cozumel, Mexico. Along the way, we went snorkeling, had breakfast on the water, and created a lot of wonderful memories.
  • First Day of Highschool

    First Day of Highschool
Sadly, summer was coming to an end, and I had to start getting ready for the most important year of my life—freshman year of high school. Originally, I was going to enroll in the high school that shared a campus with my previous middle school, but because there wasn't a swim team there, I ended up enrolling in a new high school and joining their swim team.
  • Love Of My Life

    Love Of My Life
High school is a MAJOR shift. relocating to numerous new buildings, enrolling in more challenging courses, making new friends, and beginning to think carefully about your future. As the months passed, I gained many of new acquaintances and even met the potential partner I had been seeking for. Terrence, my partner, changed me for the better and modeled how men should treat women. Terrence came into my life at a time when I least anticipated it.

    Working An Hourly Job
After my freshman year, high school was somewhat of a breeze for me; all I had to do was always keep up my study habits and avoid putting off doing my homework. Particularly towards the beginning of my junior year, when I started my first work at Walmart, which exposed me to a lot of new things and opened my eyes to the good and the bad.
  • Start Of Senior Year

    Start Of Senior Year
Due to COVID-19, half of the junior year was spent online using Zoom, and the other half was spent face-to-face with our teachers without a mouth in sight due to mask. Everything was brand-new to everyone, but I still held out hope that my class would have a prom and graduation to remember before the real world problems begin to appear with college and adult life.
  • Class of 2022 vs. Class of 26'

Graduation came so quickly that the majority of us couldn't believe high school was actually ended, and the debate over whether or not college is right for you was already on. Prom was a night that no one could ever forget. I had choices between attending a local HBCU in Atlanta or the University of Georgia for college, but when TSU offered me a full scholarship, I had no choice but to accept it and take the risk to better my future in my profession.

Making sure your FASFA is up to current and selecting the appropriate classes for your major—the entire college process—is highly challenging and irritating. On the plus side, you can bring your car on campus the first semester and you get to pick your housing, and applications are evaluated swiftly. Despite the fact that my mother was there to support me throughout the way, I got a glimpse of how things are handled differently in reality.
  • Second Semester

As a freshman, I am currently enrolled in additional visual and analytical courses during my second semester. such as Sociology, Human Anatomy, and Physical Science Lab, which provide students a distinct perspective on modern life. In addition to excelling academically, I also joined a photography club to display my beauty and skills.
