Mills vs. The Board of Education
This result of this court case says that even if a district can not afford to pay for services for those entitled to special education, the district must find the funds from other students that they would spend money on to pay for the services needed. -
Education for all Handicapped Children act
This act enables Children that are handicapped receive a free lunch in school and will be able to have the access they want to education given to them. The goal of this act is to ensure they have lesson plans made out for them that suits their disability. They made it so parents have the ability to make complaints about how their child is receiving services and have them fixed for them. -
Individuals with disabilities Educations Act
This act is the first federal legislation concerned with making sure there are special educational programs in the United States public schools. This act determines what goes into the IEPS, how those services are given by administrators/educators and to make sure the proper services are identified -
Americans with Disabilities Act
This act makes it illegal to discriminate in public life against people because of their disabilities. It insures that people with disability have equal opportunities as to people without a disability in public life. -
No Child Left Behind Act
This law says that any school receiving money from the federal goverment must meet standards that prove students were improving, including students with disabilities. -
Every Student Succeeds Act
This Act keeps students with disabilities on track to succeed, improving literacy instruction and parents can now play an even more substantial role in crafting an educational plan for their child.
