    Treaty of Paris 1763
    Treaty that officially ended the Revolutionary War on September 3, 1783. It was signed in Paris by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay. Britain agreed to remove all of its troops from the new nation.     The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament.The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed.     First shots fired between American and British troops, were in Lexington and Concord. The British chose to go to Concord. This meant that the Americans had stockpiled weapons there. It was the "Shot Heard 'Round the World." Both sides opened fire, and the Americans were forced to withdraw. By the time the British got to Concord, the Americans were waiting for them armed.
