    On August 15, 2001 I was born. I have a twin brother named Nathan that was born 30 minutes before. We were born at 1:21 and 1:50 at Abington Memorial Hospital.

    On September 11, 2001, there were a series of four coordinated attacks by the terrorist group al-Queda. Two planes smashed into the twin towers, causing them to collapse. Another plane smashed into the Pentagon, damaging it. And a fourth plane crashed in a field because the passengers revolted, the original destination was Washington D.C.

  • No Child Left Behind Act

    No Child Left Behind Act
    It was a reform that setting high standards and establishing measurable goals could improve individual outcomes in Education. It required states to assess students in basic skills. It did not require a national achievement level, but states had to create their own. This reform was signed into law on January 8, 2002 by President Bush. Many people are on both sides of this reform, and it has sparked a lot of arguments and debates.

  • Columbia Disaster

    Columbia Disaster
    On February 1, 2003, the Columbia blew up as it reentered Earths atmosphere killing all 7 people on board. Some damage occurred on the shuttle, and upon reentry, hot atmospheric gases destroyed the wing structure. It caused the spaceship to slowly break apart and ultimately explode. Many programs from NASA were suspended, and all space shuttle operations were for more than 2 years. It was a major disaster for the science community.

    Benny was born when I was four year old. I remember going to the hospital with my twin and my mom giving us toy trains as a present. He was born 10-24-2004.

    Bush was reelected to office
    George Bush was reelected into the Presidential office. It was his second term of office, and he beat out John Kerry. He was the republican nominee. He is the second bush to be elcted to office, after his father George H.W. Bush. A lot of important things happened during Bush's terms, like the 2008 finanical crisis. A during his first term was the war in Iraq and Afganistan.

  • My Allergy

    My Allergy
    I´m allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. When i was 3 in preschool, i had a sub and during snack time she gave me and my brother a snack that had nuts in it. At that age we didn't really know what was going on, but we stayed at school the rest of the day and then went home because no one knew. Eventually my mom realized what was going on, and we went to the hospital, but it had been so long since we had ate it that we had to go to CHOP and stay overnight.

    Hurricane Katrina
    Hurricane Katrina formed over the Bahamas on August 23, 2005, and reached Florida by August 25th. It was the costliest natural disaster to ever occur. It was also one of the 5 deadliest hurricanes in American history. Around 1,245 people died during the hurricane and the flooding afterward, and the cost was around 108 billion dollars. The hurricane hit from Florida to Texas along the coast of the US, causing damage in many states.

  • I started swimming

    I started swimming
    Swimming is a very big part of my life. I have made a ton of life long friends, and some of my best friends are on the team. It also keeps me in shape, and I've spent a majority of my free time swimming.

    Virginia Tech Massacre
    The Viriginia Tech Massacre occured on April 16, 2007 at the Virignia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. A senior at the school names Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and injured 17 other people. He then commited suicide 2 hours later. It is the second dealiest shooting by one gunman in US history. It lead to many debates about gun laws. Cho had been previously declared mentally ill before the shootings.

    My brother Andrew was born
    My youngest brother Andrew was born 8-25-2008. He is 6 years younger than me and 3 years younger than Benny. Before he was born i really wanted a sister and i was slightly disappointed when he was a boy. I also got another toy train when he was born.

    President Obama was elected to office November 4th, 2008. He beat out republican opponent John McCain with both popular vote and the electoral college. He is also the first African American President in Americas History. He received the highest votes ever in American history, coming in around 69.5 million votes. It was also the highest voter turn out in American history with 131 million votes.

  • Deepwater Horizon

    Deepwater Horizon
    The deepwater horizon was a deepwater offshore rig owned by Transocean. The rig drilled in the deepest oil well ever recorded in 2009. Then on April 20, 2010, a blowout occurred that caused an explosion on the rig. It killed 11 men working there and started a fire that could be seen from 40 miles away. It was inextinguishable, and the rig then sank two days later. It caused the largest oil spill in US waters ever.

  • I joined the USA swim team

    I joined the USA swim team
    I swim for two leagues during the winter, one is dcaa and the other is the dcaa USA team. The USA team swims year round and has meets year round. Since joining this team i have made many friends and it has made me a much better swimmer. Swimming is a great influence on my life, and this greatly effected my swimming.

    President Obama was reelected to office November 6th, 2012. This time he ran against republican Mitt Romney. HE won the election with 51% of voters. He was also the first President since F.D.R. to win both elections with popular vote and the electoral college. He used new technology like Facebook and Twitter to support his campaign, he was the first reelection candidate to do this.

  • Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting

    Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting
    20 students and 6 adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, 2012. The school was in session at the time and locked, and the gunman shot the door down. He ran into a classroom filled with a sub and 14 students and he killed them all. He then ran into another classroom, and killed the teacher and 6 more students. The police were called and the shooter then committed suicide within a classroom.

  • The Boston Marathon Bombing

    The Boston Marathon Bombing
    The bombing occurred on April 15th, 2013 at the famous Boston Marathon. There were two pressure cooker bombs that exploded at 2:49 pm near the finish line of the race. The bombing was an act of terror, and it killed 3 people and injured 264 more. Th FBI the identified the two suspects brother Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. They then killed a policeman, stole an SUV, and had a shootout with police in close by Watertown.

  • I moved

    I moved
    I was in 7th grade when we moved, we only moved down the street but it was a big change. There are 6 people in my family including myself. Which means i had to share a room with my twin and my two younger brothers had to share one. The house we moved to was in the same area and it has 4 bedrooms instead of 3, which means i get my own room. It was a big change to get used to how different it was, and also the move was a lot of work. But overall the move was worth it and we're all happier here.

    We got my dog Bear a few months after September 1st, his birthday. I had wanted a dog for a really really long time before that but then my mom had Benny and then Andrew and she said we couldn't have a dog until both of them were old enough. It is an important event in my life because we've had him for a really long time and hes part of the family.

    The Shooting of Micheal Brown
    On August 9, 2014, Micheal Brown was fatally shot by white police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. He had stolen some cigarillos from a convenience store and Wilson was called to deal with it. There was an altercation which caused Brown to run. Wilson then fired at Brown, who was unarmed, several times. This event sparked massive protesting and unrest, and was the first of many protested about unarmed black shootings.

  • Death of Freddie Gray

    Death of Freddie Gray
    On April 12, 2015, Freddie Gray, an African American, was arrested for illegal possession of a switchblade. Freddie was then transported in a police van where he fell into a coma and later died. He fell into the coma from a spinal injury that he suffered as a result of the officers driving the van rough purposefully to jostle him. This sparked a huge outrage and caused many protests and riots.

  • San Bernardino Shooting

    San Bernardino Shooting
    On December 2, 2015, 14 people were killed and 22 people were injured during the attack. The shooters were the couple Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik who planned the mass shooting and attempted bombing. After the shooting they fled in an SUV, and were killed in a police shootout after their vehicle was perused. The attack was an act of terror, as the couple had become radicalized a few years prior to the attack.

  • My Grandfathers' passings

    My Grandfathers' passings
    My family is a huge part of my life. I am really close with them and some of them are like bestfriends to me. This year i lost both of my grandfathers to cancer within a few months of each other. It was a huge part of my life because it was the first time i had lost someone close to me and because they were both really important to me. It was a hard time for my family and for me, which is why it effected me so much.

    The Orlando Night Club Shooting
    Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded 53 more people. He opened fire at a gay night club in Orlando Florida and was engaged in a three hour standoff with police until he was killed. It was an attack of terror and was the deadliest terrorist attack in the US since 9/11. He pledged his allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and said the shooting was in response to bombings on ISIS and the killing of an ISIS leader.

  • The Poconos

    The Poconos
    A very important place in my life is my Grandparents Pocono house. It is a huge house that sits on a lake up in the Poconos that the whole side of my moms family goes too. A lot of my earlier memories and memories now are from that house and doing things on the lake. Also it brought my family a lot closer together, and some of my cousins are like a bestfriend to me. Although it is not an event, many important events have taken place here over the years.
