  • Sugar Act (April 5, 1764)

    Taxation on imported sugar and molasses.
  • Currency Act (September 1, 1764)

    Regulated paper money issued by the colonies of British America.
  • Stamp Act (March 22, 1765)

    Imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.
  • Quartering Act (March 24, 1765)

    Forced local colonial governments to provide provisions and housing to British soldiers stationed in the 13 Colonies of America.
  • Townshend Acts (June 15 - July 2, 1767)

    Designed to collect revenue from the colonists in America by putting customs duties on imports of glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea.
  • Boston Massacre (March 5, 1770)
