On this day the confederate surrender to Gen Grant.The union is in control of the mississippi river instead of the south.The south is split into 2 and cut of from the their western allies. -

This was a speech given to those who died fighting in the Battle Gettysburg.Not only did it honor it inspired the union to keep fighting for blacks rights. -
The War Ends
President Lincoln is re-elected.The north is closing on the south.The south's capital falls and the south's leader surrenders.The war is over.The remaining confederates surrender.Over 620,000 people have died in the war.
