    Thomas Jefferson negotiated the Louisiana Purchase from Napoleon for 15 million dollars. He did this in order to gain land that stretched between the Mississippi River and the Rocky Mountains.

    Missouri Compromise
    This compromise was created by Henry Clay in response to the question of whether or not Missouri would enter the United States as a slave state or a union state. As a result, Clay ruled that Missouri would be a Slave State and Maine would enter as a Free State. It also said that any new state admitted south of the 36°30' parallel (The Missouri Compromise Line) would be a slave state

    Andrew Jackson wanted to make room for the new American settles. As a result, he had Congress passed the Indian Removal Act which allowed for all Cherokee Indians to be removed from Georgia to Mississippi. As a result, the Indians were forcible moved to reservation in Oklahoma. This removal event became known as the Trail of Tears.

    On March 2nd, the Texas Declaration of Independence was singed, and Texas became a Republic. However 4 days later, General Santa Anna attacked the Alamo, with untrained Texas soldiers taking the fall. The battle went on for 13 days, before the Alamo fell, and was seized.
