18th Amendment
This Amendment prohibited the sale and manufacturing of alcohol beverages. This resulted in the rebellion of the roaring twenties. Gangs were formed and violence broke out against this law. Speakeasies were established and flappers became the face of this time period. -
Great Depression
The stock market crashes, leading to the Great Depression. This was the worst economic downtown in the history of the industrialized world. President Herbert Hoover was blamed for everything during this time. 15 million Americans were unemployed and nearly half the country's banks failed. -
New Deal
President Franklin D. Roosevelt introduces this series of programs and projects to solve the Great Depression. It was aimed to restore prosperity to Americans. His goal was to stabilize the economy and provide jobs and relief to those who were suffering. -
U.S. enters World War II
The Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, and the United States enters World War II. Hundred of Japanese planes descended on the base. More than 2,400 American soldiers died on the attack.
