Sand Creek Massacre

Led by John Chivington, a massacre took place against Cheyenne and Arapaho Indian villages who were there to make peace. Around 700 members of the Colorado territory were apart of the mission. The massacre laster mere hours and killed more then a hundred indians, mostly women and children. -

Chinese Exclusion Act

Aurther set the Chinese Exculsion Act into place in 1882 which pit a hault to all Chinese citizens trying to become American citizens. This act lasted for twenty years before becoming permanent in 1902. In 1943 the act was repealed by the Magnuson Act during WWII when China was a ally to the U.S. against Japan. -
Panic of 1893

This led to over 15,000 businesses closing; Banks, railroads and steel mills were directly affected. Homlessness hit a high as well as unemployment. Ohios unemployment reached 50%, The Panic of 1893 fourtuantly ended in 1897 due to the United States populace. -
The Spanish-American War

The Spanish-American war was a conflict between Spain and the U.S. The major start of te war steemed from the sinking of the U.S. battleship Maine. Within weeks ther U.S. was at an unwated, unintended war with Spain. After months of fighting the war came to an end when Spain and the U.S signed the Treaty of Paris declaring independence of Cuba. -
Sinking of the Lusitania

On May 7, 1915, less then a year after WWI began, the Lusitania set sail for Liverpool. The german people believed their to be ammumition on the ship and had forwarned the U.S. that this should not be allowed. They then set off fire to the ship from a submarine, sinking the ship in 18 minutes. This created a major turn in WWI. -
Selective Serivice Act

The Great Depression
