    Turner's Rebellion was a slave rebellion led by Nat Turner. Nat Turner was a formal slave and his rebellion led to the death of between 55 to 65 people. The rebellion caused the most fatalities in an slave uprising in the Deep South.

    The Mexican-American war, that lasted from the spring of 1846 to the fall of 1847, was initiated by the U.S. and allowed them to gain more territory. This new land caused a lot of conflict between the North and the South because of the many debates over wheter the land should be free land or slavery-filled land.

    The Underground Railroad was a "vast network of people who helped fugitive slaves escape to the North and Canada". The Underground Railraod was made up of many noble people, but one well known person is Harriet Tubman. She made 19 trips into the south and helped escort over 300 slaves to freedom

    The Fugitive Slave act was passed on Sep. 13th, 1850 by the United States Congress. It is a part of the Compromise of 1850 "between Southern Slave-holding interests and Northern Free-Soilers"

    Dred Scott v. Sanford
    The Dred Scott v. Sandford was a decision, made by the U.S. Supreme Courth, that African Americans, slave or free, could not sue in the federal court. Dred Scott was an enslaved African American who attempted to sue for his freedom after he had been taken by his owners to free states and land.
