1st grade - Kadia Molodovsky
We learned the timeless poems from Kadia Molodovsky's book "Open the Gate" in a creative way, especially through drama improvisation. At the end of the unit we turned them into a final presentation to the parents, including music, costumes and narration. Studied Pirkei Avot, with Rabbi Sommers
I'd like to write about Rabbi Hesch Sommer. I don’t think R. Sommer knows how much he influenced my decision to study Judaism nonetheless I owe him this honor. What made the study fascinating for me were the insights R. Sommer brought into the discussion and the attentive and thoughtful way in which he interacted with each participant. He brought to his teaching depth of knowledge, wisdom, open-mindedness, humility, caring, listening ability, humor and dedication. -
