Thomas Kuhn
Thomas Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio into a Jewish family. He attended private progressive schools throughout his life. He attended Harvard University and obtained his BS degree in physics in 1943, then would go on to receive his MS and PhD in physics in 1946 and 1949. Kuhn married twice and had three children with his first wife. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1994 and in 1996 dies from said diagnosis.

The Kuhn Cycle
Kuhn made a claim that in all scientific fields development happens in phases that create a cycle. this theory was published in 1962 in his book "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions". In this book he talked bout the phases of his cycle and created the paradigm shift. -
"The Essential Tension" was published
This was a book where Kuhn helped presented his view of the need for tension between innovation and tradition. The book contained many previously published articles and two unpublished articles. The book also had an autobiographical preface. -
"The Road since Structure" was published
This is the last complete book written by Kuhn before he died. The book had his theories in chronological order and had shown a change of direction in his thoughts during the last two decades of his life. After Kuhn died the book was published. -
"The Last Writings of Thomas S. Kuhn: Incommensurability in Science" was published
Thomas Kuhn started his theory of incommensurability before he passed but sadly did not finish the book. His last book was pieced together with two related works that weren't previous available in English.
