Thomas Kuhn's books revolutionized the history and philosophy of science, and his concept of paradigm shift was extended to such disciplines as political science, economics, sociology, and even business management. Kuhn's concept of paradigm shift is a fundamental change in the basic concepts and experimental practices of a scientific discipline. Kuhn suggested that until there is a significant paradigm shift, scientist "discover" what they expect to see, scientist are puzzle solvers.
