Thomas wrote his first book in which he combines his love for physics for his blossoming interest in the philosophy in science. He examined the heliocentric theory and how it evolved through the renaissance.

in 1962 Thomas published his revolutionary book on the paradigm of science in which he discusses how science evolves over time. He described the difference between normal science and extraordinary science.
