    Hidalgo, Aldama, Allende and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez were having secret meetings which they use to say were book clubs. They got together in these meeting to talk about what their future actions were going to be and how to finalize their independance movement.

    Marino Galvan told his superior about the conspiracy of Hidalgo, Aldama, Allende and Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez. This lead the Spaniards to act and search Epigmenio Gonzalez’s house in Queretaro. After the search, they arrested him because of weapons and bullets found.
  • Grito de Dolores

    Grito de Dolores
    On this exact day, Miguel Hidalgo received a visit from someone in representation of Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez telling him that they needed to act fast because they would get arrested. Miguel Hidalgo hurried up to ring the church bells and gathered everyone into the church. Here the “Grito de Dolores” happened and the independence movement began.

    The War Has Begun...
    The battle for independence started, Hidalgo and his army arrive to Guanajuato and fight against Juan Antonio de Riaño. After his death, Juan Jose Martinez who was the leader of the other army, lit a wooden gate on fire and entered with the purpose of attacking gachupines.

    Allende and Hidalgo decide to go separate ways and split their army into two. After this, they take over Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi and Valladolid. Miguel Hidalgo’s army enters Mexico City later on and on this day and a battle in Monte de las Cruces begins. Hidalgo’s army wins and goes back.

    January 1811 - Spanish forces begin to regroup in January of this year and all because Felix Calleja insisted. Royalist Spanish troops get caught up with the rebels but Hidalgo’s army is still better. Miguel Hidalgo ten get’s injured by a bomb which cause Indians to flee.

    Hidalgo is Executed!
    Allende and other leaders get exposed and Miguel Hidalgo is forced to trial because of his involvement with the church. He is found guilty by the “Holy office” of inquisitions for heresy and treason. On this day, Miguel Hidalgo is executed and decapitated and later his face was put on display for the public of Guanajuato.

    On this date, the Battle of Temalaca takes place in Puebla lead by Jose Maria Morelos. A short time after, Morelos and his army were captured by the Spaniards and were executed.

    On this date, the Plan de Iguala, that consisted of three guarantees for the rebels was beginning.

    In September 1821, the independence war was finally finalized after eleven years. This because Iturbide went to mexico City and gave golden keys to the Commander.
