  • The Revolutionary war

    The Revolutionary war
The Colonists got fed up with the taxes and rebelled. They had taxes on stamps, tea, sugar and other items. They fought the British. The Colonists, even though they had no training/good fighting necessities, won. The U.S. won their independence because of this amazing event. This is our first big event as a nation.
  • Civil war causes

    Civil war causes
There were multiple causes for the civil war. The main ones were: #1 Slavery. The north and south could not decide as a nation about slaves. #2 The Union fired on Fort Sumter. #3 The Confederate states seceded. Lincon knew this could not happen because it would set a bad example in the future about problem solving and being an independent country.
  • Civil war sides

    Civil war sides
There were 11 Confederate states. They were; Virginia and North Carolina. South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas. • The Civil war

    The Civil war
The Civil war was the Union vs. the Confederates. The Union wanted slaves to be free. The Confederacy wanted to keep slaves. The Union won, so now we have no slaves. The Civil war was the bloodiest war in U.S. history.
  • The starting of WWI and why the U.S. is in

The starting of WWI and why the U.S. is in
The big starting event was when the Archduke of Austria was killed by a man in a terrorist group in Siberia called the Black Hand. Austria then declared war on Siberia one month later. Woodrow Wilson, our president at the time, tried to keep the U.S out of the war, but two major events had us go. #1 On May 7 1915, a German sub sunk an ocean liner with 128 Americans dying. #2 The Zimmermann Telegram was asking Mexico to join Germany in the war.
  • The U.S. help

    The U.S. help
In return, Germany would help get the southern states near Mexico back from the U.S. The U.S. entered on the side of the Allies when Russia pulled out. The government said all men between the ages of 21 and 31 had to enlist. They drafted 3 American million people! Most American soldiers fought in France. America helped the Allies start winning. On November 11, 1918, the German agreed to an armistice.
  • The powers and the picture

  • Resons why WWI was important

    Resons why WWI was important
It was important because before WWI we were isolated from other countries. In WWI it brought us closer to Europe.
  • World War One

    World War One
World War 1 is also known as the great war because of all the new military technology such as; airplanes, subs, machine guns, heavy artillery (tanks) and poison gas. 9 million people died and 23 more million were hurt. Trench warfare was a big part in WWI. Some battles lasted for months. The battle of the Somme (1916) lasted for months. The whole WWI lasted until 1918.
  • World war 2

    World war 2
WWII was when the Nazis took over most of Europe. Adolf Hitler was the ring leader. Hitler did not like Jews, gypsies, people with disabilities, and many more. He sent them to Concentration Camps. Millions of people died there. D-Day was when troops came and liberated Europe from Nazi controll. The war lasted untill late 1944. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. We had defeated Germany but not Japan. We ended the war with them by bombing them twice.
  • World war 2 powers and pictures

  • 9/11 continued

    9/11 continued
The people who were responsible were al-Qaeda. 9/11 for our nation was a very important terrorist attack without being in a war. It made us realize how careful we have to be and that we have to be careful about what we say/do because it can come of as a bad impression to other countries.
  • Nine eleven

    Nine eleven
9/11 is when a group of terrorist planed multiple attacks on the U.S.A. The attacks hijacked four airplanes. Two of the four were aimed toward the twin towers. Both towers were hit causing them to collapse. The third plane hit the pentagon. The fourth plane landed in a farm on the east coast. People on the plane managed to almost successfully regain control of the plane. They could not but were able to land it in the farm. It was obviously meant for the White House being only 20 miles away.

On November 4th 2008 President Barack Obama got elected to be the USA's president. He was the first African American man to be elected president, which taught us that anyone could do anything. He also got a Nobel peace prize.
  • Sandyhook School Shooting

    Sandyhook School Shooting
The Sandyhook shooting was when a man named Adam Lanza went into Sandyhook elementary school and killed twenty children and six adults including his mother, before killing himself. As a nation we now know the horror of people out there willing to kill, so now we a prepared with better training and security.
  • *****Bonus*****

    *****Bonus*****
President Obama gets sworn in for the second time after beating Mitt Romney.
  • Boston Bombing

    Boston Bombing
The Boston bombing was when two people put a bomb in the end of the finish line in the Boston Marathon. This is an act of terrorism. One of the men was killed but the other, is still alive and is being put on trail for the judge to see if he should be killed or not. There were three people killed and 264 injured. As a nation I think this taught us how careless we can be when it comes to security and this is a big step to help us figure out safer ways for our country.
