The British were tired of all the things the colonies were doing they tried to do somethings to tame everything that was happening like closing the Boston harbor and making colonist let red coats sleep at there houses -

A series of laws also called the Coercive Acts passed by Brittan in response to the Boston Tea Party. -
Lexington and Concord
The British lost 73 dead, with another 174 wounded and 26 missing in the fight the bloody encounter proved to the British that the colonists were a scary foe who had to be taken seriously it was the start of America’s war of independence
